Sand in Golden
Sand delivery in Golden starts at $27/yard delivered. Golden's soil is shallow and rocky over the Dakota Hogback sandstone and Morrison Formation, well-drained but harder to excavate, and generally less expansive than the clay-heavy basin soils to the east. Sand plays a key role managing drainage and frost protection against soil like that. Sand bedding under pavers and slabs lets water drain freely rather than freezing in place and heaving surfaces. Our washed construction sand is sourced from regional quarries with consistent gradation ideal for bedding, backfill, and concrete mix applications. We carry construction sand (coarse, angular grain for compaction), masonry sand (fine, smooth grain for mortar and leveling), and play sand (washed, rounded grain safe for sandboxes). All sand is screened and delivered clean.
